The “ Il Gusto della Costa” company was founded in April 2000 by Valentino Esposito, supported by Massimo Anastasio, Mario Anastasio and Gennaro Fusco. The main objective of the company is to process fruits of the Amalfi Coast and produce liquors and other products.
The two partners, Massimo and Mario Anastasio, own 4 terraced allotments of about 5 acres in Amalfi, at an altitude of between 100 m and 300 m above sea level, entirely occupied by lemon trees. In oue premises, these lemons are cultivated biologically, using neither chemical fertilizer nor fungicides, but only organic fertilizers and copper sulfate.
The lemons are washed accurately. We carefully peel them, paying particular attention not to notch the white part, using a simple potato-peeler.The peels are soaked in pure alcohol (96.4°) for a period of 48-72 hours. In the meanwhile, we prepare the cold syrup (water and sugar).Once the soaking period is over, we remove the peels from alcohol and we mix the infusion with the syrup. We filter the mixture to eliminate impurities and residues using a filter press. The lemons are washed accurately. This is how we obtain our Lemon Liquor which is immediately bottled in order to preserve its fragrance and flavor.
